To all who sent best wishes and get wells for my dad, I wanted to say thank
you. He passed away on March 28, 2002 after a 4 month battle with
complications caused by a botched heart catherization. His blood pressure
plummeted after dialysis and after 3 days his heart stopped, he went
peacefully (if appearance is an indicator.).

Two weeks of donor breastmilk (one week on, one week off, one week on, due
to delays in re-ordering) kept him free of the respiratory infections in his
last month (I believe)but he developed sepsis (gram negative and gram
positive cocci)probably due to a number of things, like backed up bowel and
maybe something picked up in an IV. I wish I could have convinced someone
sooner to use the breastmilk.

Four people died that week of infections. The nurse said that "the bus is
here". They can tell when they will be losing patients.

Well, before I ramble on with grief and anger, I will stop and thank you all
again. And soon I hope to get back again to joining Lactnet regularly.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Marian
