dear kathleen and all,

i would say this is NOT a nutrition assessment, but a knowledge assessment .
. . and the student and the instructor have failed!. please, let's not ever
refer to a baby as a "snacker," this gives credence to yet another false
implication. just this week i spoke to a mother who was sternly advised not
to let her baby "eat" more often than every three hours, or he would become a
"snacker." (horrors be!) this little would-be snacker weighed all of five
pounds. this advice came from a p**********n ( so as not to offend those
sensitive pediatricians).

and then, and then, to hear the same old canards about iron and offering such
nutrient-packed foods as infant cereal. i always feel this must be a plot to
slow the baby's weight gain even more, so that they can look at you and say,
well, you HAVE to supplement now, look how poorly he is growing.

i bet i can guess spencer's opinion on this. i will just call him an
efficient nurser.
