When I read the initial post I was really impressed. What a great idea.
Never would have crossed my mind.

Tina's post also has a really good idea about letting the supply go down on
one breast, because I was pondering that, too - how to handle abundant flow
when you don't want any flow.

My thought was to use two layers of clear plastic wrap (cut in circles the
size of the nipple shield) placed on the inside of the shield after the SNS
(or whatever) tube.

The order would be:

baby, nipple shield, supplementer tube, 2 layers of plastic wrap, breast
(plastic applied to allow nipple into dimple)

The plastic wrap would cling to itself and cling to the nipple shield as
well, holding the tube in place. I know that at least in the Reynolds brand,
the pastel colors are thicker than the clear (I'm not sure about the rolls
with the little designs on them). Could get pretty festive. Some Lansinoh
on the breast might make it more comfortable.

One other thought - vary the position on the "decorated" breast so that when
the baby resumes nursing on the other side -he/she is more willing to accept
it vs. "I only nurse in x position on my left side".

Please wish mom our best.
