I'm an independent LC (non nurse) working in conjunction with my postpartum
doula work. But I'd like to move to a small town and work for a pediatrician
(or an OB, not sure which would most appropriate) at least part time. I am
wondering if a ped would hire a non nurse. Would insurance cover a non nurse.
Also most peds are alien to the idea of hiring an LC. Does anyone have
suggestions for how I can write a proposal to sell myself and educate the ped
about what an LC in this position would do for him, how insurance coverage
would work, how he'd pay me, etc. Any ideas from those who have done it are
greatly appreciated.
