Dear Lactnet;

Recently I was asked by a nutritionist whether or not speech is delayed by
breastfeeding. I was, obviously, surprised by the question. Apparently there
is a community of speech therapists that believe this. The baby in question
happens to have DS and other GI problems, but is breastfeeding well. Has
anyone ever heard of this? And, does anyone out there have quick access to
the literature on improved speech and breastfeeding?

Thank you,
ia
