Zoster lesions are only contagious by direct contact, so that if the
mother covers her affected breast while in contact with her baby, she
should be able to nurse on the unaffected side without any problems. In
any case, the fact that the mother has zoster means that she has had
chicken pox in the past, and is therefore passing her own antibodies to
the baby. Alicia. [log in to unmask]
