After reading the hypoglycemia posts of recent days, I wanted to put in
a plug for Kangaroo Care for asymptomatic borderline babies who just
want to sleep.  We've had several of us "experiment" putting these
babies in Kangaroo position for an hour or two.  Mom keeps them warm so
they aren't expending so much glucose/brown fat to keep temps up and
we've seen glucose levels rise over 20 points without feeding.  The
babies usually wake up then, and breastfeed well.
Anybody doing this routinely?
