Re: the unanswered question about gripe water where baby gets "glassy-eyed
and really relaxed" from "very small amounts". Alcohol would be the most
likely culprit and many gripewater products contain it, being a
tincture-based product.
Determining which botanicals and other ingredients are in the actual product
is essential before anything else useful can be said about this situation.
It would also be essential to determine just how much, per dose and per 24
hours, the mom was giving baby.  Dose is as important as Drug.
More questions than answer.....
