Hello all

I've been off list for awhile due to the twin pregnancy and all that (due
any day now), but really had to share this cute kid quip.

My 6.5 year old son (nursed till age 5 years) went to the zoo with his
class. One of the instructions was to bring a Toonie (2 dollar coin) for
ice cream. That morning caught me without any coins in my wallet, so I gave
him a 5 dollar bill telling him to bring me home 3 dollars, no excuses.

Later that day after he returned home I came across change in his back pack
(less than $2), reminding me ask for the change from the zoo. He explained
that the change that I found was the change from the 5 dollars.

I had been very explicite in telling him that he was not to spend more than
the two dolloars and to explain himself (I was being a bit stern). He
slowly recited that he only bought ice cream and that was the change. I
asked "what kind did you buy?"....he said well the one that looks like the
package in the car (I had bought a Hagen daz ice cream bar earlier that
week and he was refering to the empty package in the car garbage).

Looking at him I asked why he bought such an expensive ice cream that cost
more than he was allowed to spend......his response was.......

"well mom I really wanted an ice cream like all the other kids and the rest
was all Nestle!"

I hugged him, asked him if he enjoyed it, he said he did and I gave him the
rest of the change to share with his brother should he ever be in need
again.

You see, kids really do listen.
