I'm way behind on my reading but can't resist commenting on Dr. Jack's
post about the above.  I get so frustrated when the docs insist on
sending off BRM samples for sodium content analysis.  OF COURSE the milk
sodium is high..her milk is involuting!  What a waste of time and money.
 And as if the mother doesn't already feel guily enough because she was
starving her baby, now we have to do a lab test to really press the
point home!  The abm is whipped out and the baby "gets better".  If we
can keep these mothers breastfeeding postdischarge it's a miracle!
