I bet everyone here can relate to this one. Went over to a mom's house last
nite--baby 48 hours old, baby 'not nursing'. Sat with mom , dad, and a friend
for over 2 hours while we worked with the little guy...who really was having
no problems, in my estimation. He was just learning, not a perfect nurser
yet. Mom was remarkably 'instinctive' and caught on quickly. She just needed
a little encouragement.
She just called "you won't believe it, He HASNT nursed once since you left"
that was almost 24 hours ago. The hospital nurse ( from a hospital that
"Supports Breastfeeding") came around noon today and told her to feed the baby
formula, because he "lost 5 ozs." So, they have been formula feeding ever
since. Mom is going to pump and feed babe from a bottle. and, oh,
BTW--"Thanks for spending so much time with me" . How depressing.
