Personal experience to report only. I've had great success treating
these sort of heavy painful cycles with an herb reputed to restore
balance to a woman's hormones, and particularly to increase the
amount of progesterone relative to estrogen in the second half of
the cycle. The herb is know as "Vitex" or "Chasteberry". I take a
capsule of the herb every day starting 14 days from the beginning
of my cycle until my period. I did that for a few months and had
wonderful results, which lasted for six months or so.
