Got my first panic call this morning. The mom was freaking out on the phone,
had to calm her down.

"The doctor said to nurse every 2-3 hours around the clock, and my baby has
been asleep since 6 am" (it was 10 am at the time).

"my friend watched Chicago Hope, and I think my baby is dehydrated"

We went over wets and messies (4 poops already today), fontanelles. Mom
stated baby's mouth was wet, not dry. After some reassurance, and mom's own
observations confirmed, mom sounded happy. Doctor visit yesterday showed some
wt gain since hosp. discharge on Tuesday. (baby born Monday). Invited her to
LLL meeting.

I suppose I can expect more calls, too.

Margie
