I don't know anything about this condition. And perhaps he will have to be
on IV nutrition for a while. But as soon as *anything* starts going into
this baby via his mouth and stomach, it should be her breast milk. Starting
with her colostrum, and then proceeding day by day with the milked she
pumped on day 1, the milk she pumped on day 2, etc. Perhaps he never will
be able to go to breast (though I wouldn't say so before he's even born!!),
but he deserves her milk. He'll have enough problems as it is without
having to deal with all of the diseases and abnormal development caused by
formula use.

Find out if the doctors think he can't "breastfeed" or if there is some
specific reason why he can't have breast milk. And so what if he can't
breastfeed for the first 3 months -- she can pump and provide breast milk,
and once all his surgeries are done, then she can work on breastfeeding.
