Cheryl,  I just had a similar case of bad sore nipples and nipple blister
which I thought was thrush caused partially by a baby with a "borderline"
tight frenulum chewing on moms nipples.  I sent the mom to a local
pediatrician who is an IBCLC who regularly clips frenulums in her office.
She clipped the baby and told mom she had Impetigo on her nipples.  Has her
treating nipple with Hydrogen Peroxide and then an antibiotic ointment.
Perhaps your mom has the same.
