If bf caused episiotomies not to heal, we would see a more unhealed
episiotomies.  Fact is, we rarely see one.  If we do, we check to see if the
mother is taking enough sitz baths or if there is some other underlying
problem like an infection or underlying disease.    Besides, if the doc
thinks the poor healing is due to low estrogen (which I doubt), why not try a
few days of estrogen cream around the area, rather than make the poor baby do
