If you suspect this may be a factor--not the age itself--I am currently bf at
almost 40--but mom possibly having been perimenopausal), I would suggest
vitex (chaste tree berry). This herb is wonderful for balancing hormonal
fluctuations and can increase milk production as well. Also, Laurie mentioned
thryoid. Many women have borderline hypothyroidism and can easily test
themselves. It can be done at any time if she has LAM, during 2nd, 3rd and
4th days of cycle otherwise. She place a thermometer shaken down below
95degrees by her bed before going to sleep. Before rising, place in armpit
for a full ten minutes, not moving any more than possible. REad and record
temp. and date. Temp should be between 97.6 and 98.2 F. If her temps are low,
she can discuss w/ her doctor further testing.
