I forgot to mention: she said the redness on her breasts had descended (so
to speak, given that it's all around her breasts) downwards towards her
nipple/areola. In other words, it was progressing/extending towards the
nipple/areola, not out FROM it.
Also, a family member from her home country in South America sent her a
cream normally used there for diaper rashes - she was applying that to her
breasts when I saw her. The label was handwritten, with no listing of
ingredients that I could see or understand. It looked a lot like what in
the US is called Desitin. She has not been putting these creams on her
nipples, which I am crediting for the fact that they are not red, like the
rest of her.
While she did not have a fever when I saw her, she HAD had one the week
prior.
The pain she's experiencing definitely sounds like a classic case of thrush,
but the breasts don't look like any case of thrush I've ever seen. I'm
going to see her again tomorrow afternoon. My apologies for the extra long
case-explanation, and my deepest thanks, in advance! Please email not just
