I'm a couple days behind in reading due to Labor Day Weekend here in the
USA. Regarding the comments about bottle images used by MOD. They are
heavily underwritten by the formula companies and the biggest, glitziest
vendor displays at their conferences are, of course, the formula
companies. And the nurse attendees just eat this stuff up. Literally, in
some cases, as they also sponsor many of the breaks and luncheons. And who
can pass up the discharge bags - distributed empty to the nurses - but,
hey, they are going to go back to their units and tell the moms how
wonderfully useful they are. And the mugs, sport bottles, and don't forget
the light-up pens!
I fear we have a long way to go with March of Dimes, like any other
corporate entity. It's all about money and very little about the health of
our babies and children.
