I just received a call from a mother of a 2 week old infant who just returned
from checkup with the pediatrician. The pediatrician told her that she had
to begin cereal feeds immediately because her daughter was sssssssssooooooooo
 big (8lbs 9 0z)
and she couldn't possibly support her on breastmilk alone. The baby was born
at
8lbs 7 oz. The female doctor also told her that if the baby was not sleeping
through the night by 3 weeks she should double the cereal feeds. The mother
didn't think that the information was correct and called me as soon as she
got home.
HELLO!!!! Are we going backwards here or what? Thanks for letting me
vent...my
blood pressure just soared.
