Hi, everybody!A pediatrician and IBCLC in Rome, Italy I am a new LACTNET
user. A breastfeeding mother suffering from severe "pustular Psoriasis", as
dxed by several dermatologists (it is so bad she can barely hold the baby
in her arms)has been suggested to start tx with Roaccutan- Isotretinoin- 40
mg per day for 1-2 mos and to wean her 4 m/o infant, since this drug is
proscribed in bf.Then she will have to wait another 1-2 mos period(?)before
resuming breasfeeding. Does anybody have  some info about alternative
txs,or this medication and its "persistence" in our system (?) post
discontinuation? Mom will be happy to pump her milk for a reasonable time,
maybe a month, IF then she will be able to continue bfing. Thanks.
