Wow, take a look at this great on-line parenting course, "A Certificate for Parenting".  It's sponsored by The Canadian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. 
It really addresses the biological background for the need to breastfeed, share sleep, baby wearing, etc and even how formula advertising has influenced our culture and history of bottlefeeding.  Its short, uses accessible language and is humourous, too.
