Hello Fellow Lactnetters,  



A few months ago, a post by Dr. Sylvia Romm in Boston caught my attention.   It was about her website, Milk On Tap, that will allow nursing moms to get online and access IBCLCs 24/7 through live video consults and she was looking IBCLCs interested in becoming consultants committing to four hours per week (or more.) 



A little background on me:  I am a former consumer packaged goods marketer turned lactation specialist after the birth of my first baby 6 years ago.  I have spent the last 5 years pursuing my IBCLC certification and having more babies!☺  It is all coming to a head end of this month when I take the IBCLC board exam July 27th and anticipate the arrival of my 4th (and presumably last) baby July 30th!



My plan post IBCLC-certification is to continue working part-time for a fabulous private practice in Chicago and spend as much time with my wee little ones as possible. I am super jazzed about Milk On Tap because, without taking away from my "day job," it will allow me to supplement my hours and experience with the flexibility of working at home during hours in which my kids are asleep or otherwise occupied.  Because of my enthusiasm for the concept, Sylvia invited me to the trial/beta site of Milk On Tap and there’s even more to be excited about than she initially let on!  As an IBCLC, in addition to being awarded the opportunity to do video consults, we can also be part of the online Community in which we can interact with moms about various breastfeeding topics, share articles we love or have authored ourselves and create and join IBCLC groups specific to our specialties or interests.  



On the site, I have the option to invite others to register to be part of the online Community (It is here you can also sign up to do video consults once that part launches late Summer/Fall.) Once you register, you will also have the option to invite others to join.
