Yes, but what is true in the US, is not necessarily true in other
countries.  Iron deficiency in the first year of life is really not a
big problem here in Canada.  There is some, but it is not a huge problem
it was in the US.  If the US had spent as much on promoting
breastfeeding as it has in providing formula during through WIC, most
mothers would be breastfeeding.
