I think we need to measure each persons' success as their own and not compare
it to another
persons' success. I think anyone who has gone the extra mile, done whatever
she could to remedy the situation and didn't give up until all her options
were exhausted, is successful. Probably not the outcome she was hoping for,
but years from now, she can look back and be proud for every drop of breastmilk
her baby DID get. A mom who is able to produce only 4, 6, or 8 ounces of
breastmilk in 24 hours is still doing her baby a HUGE favor. I try to help all
moms see the cup as half full as opposed to half empty. I think there is a
book about this exact subject in regard to BFing after breast reduction
surgery. Anyone know the name?
Sorry that my e-mails keep coming thru with those annoying marks on them,
can't find a way to turn them off!!
