One effect of lactation among women with gestational diabetes seems to be better blood
glucose and lipid profiles.  This information is used by many who practice in diabetes in
pregnancy to recommend that patients breastfeed.Even though this woman really has type II
or NIDDM, the mechanism of insulin resistance is similar between NIDDM and gestational
