I recently had a client whose baby took 3 weeks to really learn to bf. She
went through many periods of frustration and at one point, I told her that
she could certainly use a bottle rather than wean her baby from her milk, if
that was all she could manage for the moment. She told me quite vehemently
that if she used a bottle once, she knew she would never go back to the
breast. I was actually quite surprised by her response, thinking she would
jump at the bottle. She had previousely bf her son for 15 mos. She continued
to work at the breast while using an SNS at the breast and sometimes on the
finger. The baby is doing beautifully now at 6 weeks.
