Hi. when "we" have an infant that needs just a bili blanket and not the full
bank of free standing overhead bili lights we rejoice!! we send the baby to
moms room with the bili blanket inside of the back of the T shirt, show mom
how to position the blanket (ours looks almost like a skinny ping pong
paddle) and go and check on them often. The other kind of bili blanket that
we rent when we are on a jaundice roll is called a "wallabee" and it too can
be placed inside the T shirt, providing even better light coverage because it
wraps around the baby's midsection so there is light exposure on the back and
the belly. Baby is still in with mom, breast feeds, stays with mom where the
baby belongs. :) sometimes the mom has a problem keeping the blanket on
during feedings, so the blanket is off for the feeding and reapplied as soon
as the baby is fed. We try not to turn it into a big deal so that mom doesnt
see it as a big deal. Maureen.
