At our science centre astronomy nights seem to be attracting the 20 and
thirty-something crowd mixed in with the family groups. When there is an
event such as an eclipse attendance improves. I do not know if it
qualifies as what we normally call hip but the interest is there.

We're all pretty good at reaching families, school groups, and teens,
but how about people like me? A young thirty-something, no kids, not
married, looking for something hip to do for the evening?

****************

This maybe not quite what you were after, but the recent Newcastle Science
Festival included many events aimed at adults as well as families. These
tried to go beyond the regular guest lecture approach, but the one that
sold out quickest (as it did last year) was this one:

Anyone else going down this line?

Andy
