Posts of this research has circulated for the past week.  It's a complex feature of us individually and collectively, and likely colors every aspect of our decision making.  interestingly this research refutes some prior work from 2003.  In this comparable study, a sample size that appears to be more than a couple of orders of magnitude probably tells the difference in results.
