Here's a good funding opportunity that just got on my radar screen; most of
you may already know about it.

The MetLife Foundation Museum Connections program was created to help museums
share their work with the broader community. Through the program, MetLife
awards a total of $500,000 annually to U.S.-based art museums in eligible states
to support creative and innovative projects that increase dialogue between
museums and the community; expose the collections and cultural resources found in
museums to a broader segment of society; and build new audiences for the arts.
To enhance its effectiveness and reach art museums of all sizes, the program
targets a different portion of the country each year. In 2004 art museums in
the following twenty states are eligible to apply: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois,
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi,
Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee,
Texas, and Wisconsin.
Individual grants will vary depending on the nature and scope of the project,
though no grant to a single organization will exceed $100,000, the maximum
allowable. Applicant organizations must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of
the IRS Code.
See the MetLife Foundation Web site for detailed program guidelines and
application instructions.
