Hi Regan,
Many years ago (1996?), Science World in Vancouver, Canada, had an exhibit
on mining and geology. If I remember correctly, the whole exhibit was an
immersive role-playing scenario that emphasized critical thinking and
differing perspectives regarding mining-related issues facing a fictional
community. At the beginning of the exhibit, the visitor drew a card that
gave them an identity--i.e. environmentalist, miner, geologist, etc.
Visitors used interactives to explore related science concepts, then at the
end of the exhibit made a recommendation regarding the mining issue.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of this exhibit, but I remember it
being very engaging and thoughtful.
