ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

While I'm also a huge fan of the DV-68, I think Wayne is talking
about a device that will play the daily recording for an external
person phoning in to the museum -- right?

In that case, I'd think it'd be fairly straightforward to get a
computer to do that. On the Mac side, I found these software
packages in a quick search:

Just glancing at the web sites, it appears that you can customize the
outgoing message based on, well, based on a lot of things. I don't
know if you'd be able to schedule a different outgoing message each
day for an entire month, but it looks like at least a week is doable.
If you have hackers in your midst, they could probably set up an
AppleScript or Automator script to schedule it out a lot longer.

The Philink one really emphasizes scriptability... it talks about,
for example, how you can get it to look up the weather online and
read the forecast to someone over the phone... so it seems like it
ought to be straightforward to get it to play a sound file based on
the date.

This seems like a very solvable problem (and a fun thing to
implement, too). Good luck!
