ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hi everyone,

There has been some exchange on this platform lately to discuss experiments
on climate issues. It occur to me that some of the regular users might not
be aware of the efforts we do with IGLO to come up with a “toolkit” grouping
the best practices in this field to be used by the program for the upcoming
IPY. I thought you might be interested to find out about the RAP we organize
together with the Museum of Science and Planetarium in Miami, to address
that issue. Please find hereafter the presentation and program for that
event that is very close now, but still open for additional registrations.

It is not to late to register for the RAP. And, if you have never toured
the everglades, this is your chance.

Our aim is to explore a wide range of options and identify concrete
proposals an activities that could be delivered across the science center
sector during the IPY. It will be an opportunity to learn about what has
already been achieved and to contribute to developing and expanding the list
of resources. We will also discuss the IPY launch events, both in the US
(2/26) and International (3/1) and identifying experiments that could be
carried out in science centers, in collaboration with schools.

A visit to the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is also planned, meeting
specialist staff, and, in addition, we hope to take a trip to the Everglades
Sunday morning.
