Alissa,

I don't know the answer to your deep and probing question but I do know
someone that might.  Her name is Marcie Pelchat at the Monell Chemical
Senses Center in Philadelphia. She has a great collection of odd foods
including reindeer blood pancake mix from Lapland.  She also uses Nutella to
define delicious.  A definition I can definitely get behind.
