Isn't the huge popular interest in Hubble Telescope images one of NASA's
most successful public relations assets?

I remember times when their website was impossibly overloaded. I bet the
logfiles of websites offering Hubble images would prove them to be among
the most influential of all popular science resources, in terms of public
"engagement" with science.
