Yes, but this version has its own issues.

You can get an electronic stethoscope - I got ours from Science Kit & Boreal
Labs, but I'm sure other places sell them, too. It's a nice piece of work.
With an adaptor you can connect it to a set of speakers (I've found computer
speakers to be the best) and you broadcast the heartbeat. Pretty cool. A
favored demonstration is to have someone listen to their heartbeat, then
have them jump up and down/do jumping jacks/whatever, then listen again to
hear the change in the heartbeat.

The downside is that this contraption is good for a staffed demonstration,
but it's too fragile to leave out as an unmanned exhibit. And it costs a bit
over $250.

Does anyone know of anything off the shelf (or easily modified) so that
visitors can listen to their own heartbeat without putting typical
stethoscope ear pieces in their ears?
