Well, how about historic seating?

1) The following link provides information and a link to a photograph of the original seating in the Lecture Hall (a.k.a. Little Science Theater--NOT the planetarium) of Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science. The photograph shows the 250 original seats in the Lecture Hall, which were used from Buhl's opening in 1939 through Buhl's closing as a museum in 1991 until Buhl's closing as a tutorial center (for Carnegie Science Center classes) in 1994. Forty of these seats are still in use in the Bowdish Gallery (different location from original Lecture Hall), by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, which is now utilizing the original Buhl Planetarium building.

2) The following link shows a photograph of some seating used in the Civil War Museum of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. These seats date back to 1906 when this room was the Captain Thomas Espy Post, No. 153, Grand Army of the Republic.

3) The following link shows the original seats, from 1901, in the Music Hall of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. An interesting feature of these seats is that under each seat (connected to the bottom of the seat) is a wire hat holder for temporary storage of a gentleman's hat.
