Hi Dan,

The NSF grant, Science in the Stacks, funded the development of science center piece of the Children's Library Discovery Center in Queens, NY. The grant covered exhibit planning and fabrication, staff training (professional staff and part time "explainers") steady guidance for program development. The museums involved were the Exploratorium (exhibits), Brooklyn Children's Museum and NY Hall of Science. NYSci's role was mentor like, especially in the person of Marcia Rudy. She was heavily involved in the initial program planning and provided feedback on exhibit prototypes and interpretation once we were open. The museums are referred to as partners in the grant proposal but in terms of the museum/science center aspect of the facility, mentoring would describe the relationship.

>Greetings Everyone!
>
>I'm looking for the award titles of any NSF-funded projects that had science centers or museums acting as mentors to other centers/museums as a key component of the project. I know they are out there, and I've found a few, but the search has been tedious via the NSF website. Thus, I thought some of you might know of a few good ones just off the top of your heads. If you think you can help, I will greatly appreciate any information you can provide.
