Hello Tal,
This may or may not be appropriate for you, but a fun twist is the
"people-powered amusement ride" idea I've seen at
MakerFaire<http://makerfaire.com/>and other places (such as a
human-powered
ferris wheel<http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/10/the-ultimate-carnival-ride-human-powered-ferris-wheel.php>in
India). It's another take on the "how much pedal power does it take to
turn on a lightbulb" concept.
