ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I'd like to remind you of why we were making the attempt to draft a
statement that science centers could choose to post to help define their
position on the Theory of Evolution. It was not an effort to teach the field
of Evolution but to craft a statement in defense against efforts by the
Right to silence or censor the depiction of Evolution or to force
Creationism's inclusion as a quasi scientific theory whenever Evolution is
mentioned. Our statement is to show why Evolution is consistent with our
science mission and why we feel the need to defend our right to present it
as what it is.

I don't claim to be able to explain Evolution in 3 paragraphs simple enough
for a 4th grader to understand and that's not what I was trying to do.
Depicting the "phenomenon of Evolution and the Theory of Natural Selection"
is certainly outside that scope. Let's see some exhibit ideas for that!
