This is just the type of conversation member of ASTC's Visitor Services Community of Practice are having! At museums and science centers, the visitor experience encompasses a wide range of responsibilities - from ticket sales, retail sales, floor staff, to even managing onsite parking. This Community of Practice will explore all these aspects of the visitor experience and more!

If you would like to join this group, just log into your ASTC Connect account and select "Visitor Services Community of Practice" or write to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for assistance.

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help settle a recent [friendly] debate with a colleague: When hiring your front-line education staff to teach programs (i.e. classes; for us that's a small army of part timers), how many of you hire for education/presentation/performance background vs science background (recognizing that both is ideal!).

Thanks in advance!
