ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

We look at the impact of the Industrial Revolution, the technologies,
the accompanying urban development, etc., using a series of maps,
historic photographs, and primary source documents.  We have an activity
dealing with the typhoid epidemic and how the disease circulated in the
city's canal system in this area in 1890, and how  the cause was
discovered; we have a groundwater lab that shows how contaminants from
the mills could get into the groundwater and ultimately into the surface
waters; we have another lab that looks at surface contaminants and their
impacts.
