ASTC RAP Session

"Writing your first NSF Grant Proposal? A University/Museum Collaboration
May be the Way to Succeed"

Date: Friday April 23, 6:00pm through Saturday April 24, 2004, 5:00pm
Hosted by: Discovery World Museum, located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Collaborating with a local university or college can make for a winning
partnership for funding and program purposes. "Making the Nano World
Comprehensible," a DWM/University of Wisconsin-Madison program focusing on
nanotechnology, provides an excellent starting point to discuss how to
identify and work successfully with institutions of higher learning to write
a successful NSF proposal. Key players in the NSF-funded Internships in
Public Science Education (IPSE) program and experts on grant proposal
preparation will join the discussion on how to get started.

Featured presenters will be:
*Dr. Henry Blount, Office of Multidisciplinary Activities for Mathematical
and Physical Sciences, National Science Foundation
*Dr. Arthur Ellis, Division of Chemistry, National Science Foundation
*Dr. Orrin Shane, Division of Elementary, Secondary, and Informal Education,
National Science Foundation
*Sheri Severson, Grants and Contracts Specialist, College of Engineering,
University of Wisconsin(UW)-Madison
*Paul Krajniak, Executive Director, Discovery World, Co-PI of IPSE program
*Wendy Crone, Associate Professor, UW Engineering Physics, Co-PI of IPSE
program.

UW-Madison and Discovery World have been collaborating for the past three
years.

Contact Tom Derenne at Discovery World for more information and a
registration form.
