I've never watched the Ellen De Generes Show, but today I happened to
notice it had the Science Guy. It wasn't Bill Nye. I recorded it and
played the science segment. I've forgotten the fellow's name, but he was
quite good. For one part of his presentation, he used 2500 lb. of corn
starch mixed with water to show off it's interesting properties. It can,
for one, stand a strong impact--like walking across it quickly without
falling into it. That was quite funny. The 50Kv light bulb appeared to
be a simple 100 watt bulb, but he powered it with a 50Kv source. At 50Kv
is looked like one those common devices in science stores where it looks
lightning in a ball. My question is where does one get this gizmo? It
looked like it might be attractive in conjunction with a Van De Graff
generator.
