We run an RT in one of our shows, and while I don't deal with it on a
daily basis, we haven't seen this effect.

Are the jets or holes in the tube very fine.. perhaps as the tube is
heating up ??
try running some ice over it between sessions to see if it comes back to
life.

How is the gas fed into the Ruben' tube? Is it a local tank or a
distantly fed gas tank?
If it's distantly fed, then I would think your delivery system is
under-sized.
