From my Science Communicators' Quotation Kit,
http://www.interactives.co.uk/quotation%20kit.htm (feel free to help
yourself, incidentally...!)

Have you noticed that those most protective of their ideas are those with
fewest ideas to protect? I find there's a better quality of life in aiming
to generate ideas faster than they can be taken up. Presenting a moving
target...

The worst thing in all this is when somebody copies your ideas BADLY!

I'm beginning to think the most important intellectual property is in
names, titles, trademarks and "brands". These do have serious commercial
value, should not be copied, and are much better protected legally.

Someone mentioned "copyrighting" an exhibit. As far as I know, that's not
possible. Copyright is an automatic legal right that legally, naturally,
belongs (initially, at least) to the originator or her/his employer. I
don't think it really applies to most interactive exhibits, apart from
software, images and written text where it certainly does apply. If you
take a photograph from my website, for example, and publish or publicly
display it without my permission, you are breaking the law. Being the
person who took the original photograph, assuming I can prove that I am,
the copyright in it is mine. There is no requirement for me to have
"copyrighted it".

Give people facts and you feed their minds for an hour.
Awaken curiosity and they feed their own minds for a lifetime.
