Hi Jane,

We have one that was purchased to be part of a traveling exhibit that would rotate around the Oklahoma Museum Network. We acquired it from Hands On! Inc. approximately three and a half years ago, and it has been EXTREMELY popular. We do not staff it, it is the type with the hydraulic nails that come up when you push a button, and go down when the button is released. It has been an easy, pretty much maintenance free exhibit for us. And to my knowledge in the entire run so far, there have been no injuries or problems with it not being staffed. The Arizona Science Center also has one and may be able to chime in.

We would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hello Colleagues,

Here at the Museum of Science in Boston, we are considering the

installation of a bed of nails. For those of you who have one, I would

appreciate your wisdom re:

- where - and for how much $$ - did you acquire it?

- do you open it only when you have staff to assist?

- would you do it again or are there any regrets?

Many thanks for your ideas and information!

Jane
