Allow me to accelerate to warp factor Geek...

This makes Fincke the second person who has actually been in space to appear
on Star Trek. In one episode of ST: The Next Generator (it's the one where
an old teleporter accident created a double of Riker), Mae Jaemison did a
cameo as a teleporter operator. Jaemison, for the record, was the first
African American woman in space.

International Space Station Expedition 9 Astronaut
Mike Fincke, who credits Pittsburgh's original Buhl
Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science for his
interest in becoming an astronaut, will have a short
walk-on role as a Star Fleet engineer, on the *series*
finale of the UPN television series "Star Trek:
Enterprise."

This final episode, of the four year series, will air
on UPN at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time this Friday, May 13,
2005. The previous hour [8:00 p.m. Eastern], UPN will
broadcast the second-to-last episode; hence, these
last two episodes will be broadcast back-to-back on
the network. People who live in other time zones
should check their listings for the correct time the
program will air.

For those who live in a city which does not have a UPN
affiliate, "Star Trek: Enterprise" is syndicated to
some other television stations, as well. You should
check your local listings for the date, time, and
channel that broadcasts this program.

For those who do not know what Mike Fincke looks like,
here is a link to his NASA photograph:
