Dear Colleagues,

Marianne here from Galway Atlantaquaria in Ireland. We hold Children's Science Workshops every Saturday, and the most popular component is alway the science experiments. I've run the workshop for a while now with the same 6-7 experiments, but now I'd like to change the content of the workshop to encourage (hopefully) some repeat visits!

Does anyone have ideas for some fun science experiments, water-related or not, marine or not, that I could use for the workshop? The kids are 7-12 years old. the experiments we've done until now are the following: Make a sand filter, density gradient in salt and fresh water, design a boat, mussel filtration, time a wave, water quality testing, and launch a rocket (which has nothing to do with marine science, it's just fun!). I'd also be happy to share the instuctions for these experiments with anyone who's interested.

Thank you for your help,

Marianne Mortensen
Education Officer
Galway Atlantaquaria
